WEST GREENWICH, RI — Coast to Coast Fulfillment, Inc., a third-party logistics (3PL) provider, has completed Phase 2 of its expansion, doubling the size of its order-processing center in West Greenwich, Rhode Island.
Starting with the purchase of 14.5 acres of land adjacent to their facility in March, 2012, Coast to Coast built an 8,000-square-foot center for processing fashion jewelry orders to complete Phase 1. With Phase 2, Coast to Coast has completed construction of 29,000 more square feet of warehouse space, dedicated to primarily processing orders for housewares, electronics, food supplements and the staging of all outbound shipments. Coast to Coast’s expanded facility now comprises 82,000 square feet of offices and warehouses on 20 acres of land at 773 Victory Highway. The compound is a half-mile north of Interstate 95, Exit 5B, with easy access for trucks.
In 2012, sales increased fifty percent over the prior year, while 2013 brought in more clients than any other year. Coast to Coast President Hermond Ghazarian said, “Now that Phase 2 is complete, we now can better service our expanding client base under one roof. Ghazarian added, “Despite a lackluster economy in Rhode Island, we’re happy to have been able to keep construction workers on the job for 18 months, while in the warehouse adding 12 more employees.
Client Services Manager Randy Lundquist added, “With the additional space, we now can have many more pick lines operating at the same time, processing hundreds of products destined for several different chain stores simultaneously. Plus, now that we are an FDA-registered facility, we are expanding our order processing for over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and food supplements.”
In addition the recent 29,000 square foot expansion, Phase 2 also included the complete renovation and expansion of the customer-service department to 12 stations, a new data-processing center, new offices, a conference room, and an employee cafeteria.
